Our 15-month-old has been practicing scooping with the spoon and the fork actually stays in her hand without slipping. The bowl's deep sides keep the food contained even when she gets a little too enthusiastic. It's made mealtime much less stressful for both of us.
My 18-month-old finally gets the spoon to her mouth without half the oatmeal landing on the floor, which is honestly a win. The fork tines are just sharp enough for her to stab a blueberry on her own.
The fork actually pierces food instead of just smooshing it, which made my son want to stab everything on his plate. Two weeks in and he's scooping rice with the spoon without my help. The size fits his little hands way better than the adult stuff we were using.
